No page here decides whether anybody is in compliance with anything. What this site does instead.

The short form

InterceptorCall makes introductions. It is not a contractor, a waste hauler or a control authority, it is not party to any agreement you reach, and it makes no compliance determination about any particular kitchen.

InterceptorCall is a referral service, not a contractor. We connect operators and property managers with independent contractors. Contractors and waste haulers are required to hold whatever credential and permit their state or municipality demands — ask to see them, because the manifest they leave you is a compliance record. We carry out no work, we haul nothing, we do not set prices, and we never charge the caller anything. Nothing here states the grease limit, the pumping interval or the device size that applies to any particular kitchen; those are set by your control authority and by your installation.

The service offered

InterceptorCall is an introduction service. We connect operators and property managers with independent contractors. We are not a party to any agreement you reach with a contractor or a hauler, we do not supervise their work and we do not guarantee it.

What the regulatory material is and is not

It describes federal requirements and repeats what EPA publishes: the prohibitions in the pretreatment regulations, the requirement that each POTW set its own local limits, and EPA’s figures and guidance on grease control.

It is not a statement of what any local ordinance requires and it is not a compliance determination. Local limits, intervals, device requirements and record keeping are set by your control authority and differ substantially between them. Ordinances are amended. Read yours at the source.

Enforcement in this area is administrative and escalates. If you have received a notice of violation, an order or a penalty, that is a matter for your control authority and, if you want one, your own advisor. This website is general information and is not a substitute for either.

Correcting the record

If something here is wrong, tell us at [email protected] and we will correct it. We would rather be corrected than consistent.

Have the last manifest in front of you.Date, hauler, volume removed and where it went — it is the first thing anyone asks for and it tells a contractor more about the state of the vessel than a description does. We will route you to somebody who covers your area, identified from the ZIP code of the premises, and you are never charged. Other plumbing work at the premises can be arranged through the same call.
